Got this shaver as a xmas gift. Found out in Maywhen I attempted to use it for the first time thatthe electric motor was broken. Opened it up to findthat the AC transformer and motor are combined asone subassembly. The motor has a spinning plasticarmature which holds a magnet. The armature plasticis very thin and had shattered into several piecesso the motor is unrepairable. Deni.com doesnot list the Model 5700 ice shaver as a currentproduct.
It is compact and works good. Very important that it shaves ice very fast and makes soft snow without pieces of ise.But you can have a problem with reliability using the machine hard. Be careful!!!
